LonMark International
An open, interoperable revolution is underway in the control networking industry—and one organization is leading the establishment of interoperability standards: LonMark International. Its mission: to make it easier to create integrated, multi-vendor systems based on LonWorks networks by using standard tools and components.
Supported by a who's who of controls companies, LonMark International counts among its members not only the manufacturers fueling this revolution but also the end-users, equipment specifiers, and system integrators driving its implementation.
What It Does
- Promotes the benefits of LonMark open systems—control systems that use LonMark certified products, include a network database with an openly accessable interface supported by multiple network tool manufacturers, and an open system architecture—to end-users, manufacturers, and system integrators.
- Recommends technical design guidelines to help manufacturers build interoperable LonMark products based on the LonWorks control platform. It also helps end-users and integrators understand how to request, specify, and build open automation systems.
- Verifies that products meet the LonMark guidelines for interoperability. Products that bear the LonMark logo have been designed to interoperate across a LonWorks network.
The organization also provides a forum for member companies to work together on marketing and technical programs to advance the LonMark standard for open, interoperable solutions.
